Nils Olsen, PhD, Interim Program Director and Assistant Professor, Organizational Sciences, George Washington University
 Nils Olsen is trained as a Social Psychologist (Ph.D., University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill) and Statistician (secondary concentration, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, L.L. Thurstone Psychometric Laboratory). In addition to his experience at GWU, Dr. Olsen has worked with the Psychology Department at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, the Global Executive MBA Program at Duke University, Duke Corporate Education, Inc., the American Bar Foundation, the audit, tax, and advisory services of KPMG, the National Institutes of Mental Health, NIMH/NIH, and Deutsche Asset Management, Deutsche Bank. His work on interdependence theory has shaped an interest in exploring situations where there are more people than resources, situations that call for a coordination between individuals. Dr. Olsen's research is specifically focused on: (a) decision making under extreme conditions; and (b) procedural justice within professional-client interactions (e.g., physician-patient, lawyer-client). He has publications appearing in journals such as the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Social Cognition, and Academic Emergency Medicine; and collaborative work within the New York Times Bestseller, Predictably Irrational (Dan Ariely, Harper Collins, 2008 & 2009).
