As government managers and leaders, we have all been aware of the need to “address diversity” in our agencies and organizations. Most offices were able to increase or meet their “diversity quota” by hiring and employing a more diverse staff in terms of gender, age, race/ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, etc. The challenge now is how to create an inclusive work place so that you may leverage the diverse experiences, skills, and perspectives that people bring to enhance employee engagement and organizational performance. In this session, we will:

  • Explore why diversity matters
  •  Clarify the differences between managing diversity, protecting employee against discrimination, and fostering opportunity for underrepresented groups
  • Develop strategies for communicating respect and inclusion

Register online at www.feiaa.org.
