FEI Happenings: FEI Footsteps Classes

Upcoming FEI Footsteps Classes
FEI is excited to offer a great program this summer for continuing professional leadership development. This is a fantastic opportunity to get out of the classroom and expand your perspective.

This course will explore how to build a culture of innovation and teamwork like that of the Mayo Clinic. Our Footsteps classes are open not only to Leadership for a Democratic Society (LDS) alumni but also to former facilitators as well as any GS-15 and SES executives. If you’ve already taken an LDS program, this is a wonderful chance for an LDS reunion; if you haven’t been through LDS, this is a great chance to see what the Center for Leadership Development has to offer.

Exploring the Culture of Innovation and Teamwork at the Mayo Clinic: Executive Leadership Lessons

August 27–29, 2019, Rochester, MN
Head up north this summer and check out the Mayo Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to go behind the scenes at the clinic, where you’ll engage with innovators, researchers, and world-renowned thought leaders. Class participants will take a historical walk in the footsteps of two famous brothers and outstanding surgeons, William and Charles Mayo, to discover how they envisioned and created a learning community that has become one of the finest medical centers in the world.

Participants will gain an innovative mindset and apply it to a current challenge, resulting in a comprehensive strategy and plan. We will also explore and understand team dynamics as they relate to the creative problem-solving process, and we’ll learn how to build and lead high-impact, effective teams.

Tuition is $3,500. Lodging and airfare are not included, but a group of rooms will be available at the government rate. Several meals are included.

The registration link is available at https://leadership.opm.gov/programs.aspx?course=287. You may also contact FEI at feiregistrar@opm.gov or call 434-980-6232.
