The topic of the month is resilience—how one deals with life-changing events, such as the death of a loved one, job loss, the discovery of a serious health issue, or another traumatic episode. Psychologists have determined that resilience is ordinary, not extraordinary. Most people are able to bounce back after these events, although it may take considerable time and effort to overcome them.
