November 11 is Veterans Day. Did you know? According to the Office of Personnel Management’s Employment of Veterans in the Federal Executive Branch report, veterans now represent approximately one-third (31.1 percent) of the total U.S. Federal workforce. In honor of Veterans Day, the Executive Summary interviewed three members who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Major General Timothy P. Kelly (LDS 361) is the mobilization assistant to the commander, Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, TX. As a civilian, he is the director of special programs and technology integration for the undersecretary of defense for policy. Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Anthony C. Thomas (LDS 404) is the former deputy inspector general for intelligence and special program assessments of the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General. Captain Stacey Noem (LDS 441) is a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and now chief of the Safety and Incident Investigations Division within the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement.

We also caught up with FEI faculty member Colonel (Retired) Michael Belcher (LDS 391). He shared his transitional journey from the Marine Corps after 28 years of service to faculty at the Federal Executive Institute.
