We all learned at the Federal Executive Institute (FEI) that change, although disruptive, is a good thing. It was mentioned in a previous Executive Summary that change is coming to FEIAA. To better connect with its members, FEIAA is expanding its somewhat limited presence on various social media platforms. Previously, FEIAA had established a page on LinkedIn and Facebook. The LinkedIn presence is through a “group,” which is a good way for FEIAA members to interact with one another; however, it is not necessarily the best means for FEIAA to disseminate information to its members. Therefore, FEIAA will establish a company profile on LinkedIn that posts information to the membership. In addition to Facebook and LinkedIn, FEIAA recently joined both Twitter and Instagram.
- Facebook: @FEIAlumniAssociation
- Instagram: FEIAlumni
- LinkedIn: Federal Executive Institute Alumni Association
- Twitter: @FEIAlumni
These are the four most popular social media platforms, and we hope that members will be able to connect with FEIAA on at least one of them. For those not on social media, our FEIAA website— www.feiaa.org—will remain FEIAA’s “online anchor.” We plan to have our social media sites link to our website and vice versa.
We’ve already started to make better use of these tools. For instance, during the 2019 Executive Forum we live-tweeted throughout the day using the hashtag #FEIAAforum2019. We’ve also begun to post information, such as links to the Executive Summary, and communicate upcoming events. As we introduce FEIAA to new graduates of FEI, we plan to advertise our new social media sites and pages. We hope that our increased social media presence will appeal to new graduates looking for a way to extend the FEI experience and stay in touch. We also seek to create a sense of community with both new and long-time FEIAA members. As we go through this change at FEIAA, please bear with us as we grow our social media presence. If you’re so inclined, please give us a follow or a like.
